Jim Woosley is now in his fifth term of serving the Texas A&M University Faculty Senate. Jim has served the senate under the current and previous 6 presidents. Jim is now the immediate past Speaker of the Faculty Senate and continues to serve on the Executive Committee. Jim served as a member of the Executive Committee under 10 different Senate Speakers. Over these numerous years Jim has seen and been part of many changes and developments in faculty governance in higher education. Only through this extensive experience has grown an understanding and appreciation of what the senate is and how it works and how faculty best utilize senate relationships with administrators and government agencies. Jim has been very active in senate issues throughout his tenure on the Senate and feels that the faculty senate is a vital part of governance. There is no better opportunity for faculty to participate in governance than to be elected by their peers to represent them.
